Canada Immigration

Canada urgently needs immigrants to continue the excellent economic growth the country has experienced in recent years. To keep up with the trend, the country is increasing immigration targets to over 400,000 per year.

For this reason, the country has developed a very diverse and flexible list of Canadian immigration programmes.

Professional and Skilled Worker Canada Immigration Program

1-The Quebec Skilled Worker Program

All about Quebec’s skilled worker programme

Quebec has its own unique rules for selecting immigrants who will adapt well to life in the province.

The Quebec Skilled Worker Program is an immigration programme that does not require a valid job offer from a Canadian employer. The programme selects candidates for permanent residence who intend to live and establish themselves economically in Quebec.

The Quebec Skilled Worker program has specific qualification criteria based on Quebec’s cultural uniqueness. An applicant may include their spouse, common-law partner and any dependent children in their application – applicants must note that applicants with families (especially those with young children) are awarded additional points under the Quebec Skilled Worker Program.

Although the programme does not provide an official list of eligible occupations, you may want to take a look at some of the occupations that are currently in demand in Quebec. If the criteria set by Quebec immigration authorities are met, the person qualifies for the programme regardless of their profession or field.

Applicants who are successful in the Quebec immigration selection system will receive a Quebec Selection Certificate, which will allow them to apply for a Canadian permanent resident visa.

To qualify for a Quebec Selection Certificate, skilled worker applicants must score high enough in the Quebec Immigration Selection System. A single applicant must score at least 49 points based on the criteria, and an applicant with a spouse or common-law partner must score at least 57 points.

Quebec skilled worker applicants are not assessed based on the Federal Skilled Worker Program selection factors.
